Paste link into a browser window: [isdntekvideo] Up for auction to the highest bidder is a Czech violin Ca. 1900 that has been revoiced by famous fiddle maker John Silakowski. John's work is loved throughout the bluegrass world and seen as one of the best for set up and sound in the medium. Michael Cleveland of the International Bluegrass Music Association has owned a Silakowski revoice before. This particular violin was purchased from the former fiddle player for the Bill Monroe and His Bluegrass Band who is a good friend of Silakowski. As stated above, the violin is revoiced by and also set up by John Silakowski. The violin's sound is very punchy and bright, the upper registers are sweet and bright that are responsive and carry a unique timbre with lots of color, but at the same time being very focused. All registers on the violin are bright and piercing. The mid registers – Sul A and D – are sweet and focused. Not as bright as the upper register. The true color of the violin comes out in the Sul G wherein you hear color packed with more color. There's a lush creaminess to the sound that's thick, bright and piercing, the wood of the violin comes out in these registers most. I am a Student at the Violin Making School of America in Salt Lake City selling off a large portion of my violin collection to help pay for tuition. I pride myself in having integrity and strive to ensure those who purchase from me are satisfied. If you have any questions about this violin or any others that I may have in my collection, please feel free to ask. All of my violins will all be sold to the highest bidder, and they will all be well below retail market value.
